Corporate Communications Senior Specialist
Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity in the Nasdaq Corporate Communications team to provide support for our North American Markets business. The role will lead external communications and develop impactful thought leadership campaigns for one of the largest marketplaces in the world, covering equities, exchange-traded products and trading services.
We are looking for an expert writer and story teller, adept at working with clients, partners and media, with a strong background and successful track record in media relations, fluent in building and maintaining long term relationships with key media outlets and industry analysts covering Nasdaq and the capital markets. You will have a passion for financial markets, an interest in the rapidly evolving world of market structure and infrastructure and a keen follower of the major regulatory and news developments impacting the finance world.
The right candidate will be comfortable collaborating with senior management, specialized teams and individuals across the business. You'll work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders including our business development, marketing, internal research, and social media teams, to help develop insightful content and provide recommendations on external communications strategy. You will also work with multifunction teams to support emerging business initiatives and collaborate across our enterprise, particularly with the Investment Intelligence, Market Technology and Listings businesses.
We want you to bring your knowledge, experience, and creativity on how we can better position our brand in the capital markets, as well as to elevate Nasdaq’s brand in the broader investing community among both retail and institutional investors. Your deep understanding of the media landscape will help develop newsworthy and unique content that features our markets, insights and subject matter experts.
You will be reporting into the Associate Vice President, Corporate Communications, Investment Intelligence and North American Markets. While you will lead the development and execution of external communications campaigns for the division, you will also have an opportunity to collaborate across the business and help elevate Nasdaq’s brand.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Serve as an important strategic communications advisor for the North American Markets business
Maintain and build relationships with key media outlets, journalists, analysts and industry thought leaders covering market structure and infrastructure
Proactively engage with media outlets and journalists for story ideas
Write and review communications materials including press releases, pitches, and thought leadership content
Arrange, facilitate, and manage media briefings with key spokespeople
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across several functional areas on campaigns, product launches, client wins, and milestones
Support issue/crisis communications to protect and enhance Nasdaq’s reputation as leading markets operator
Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, journalism, or a related field
4-7 years of media relations experience, particularly in financial services and existing relationship with top tier financial and business outlets
Excellent communication, presentation, relationship management, and writing skills
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and multitasking campaigns
Self-starter with the confidence and ability to manage initiatives and come up with new ideas
This position can be located in New York, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 2 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

The base pay range for this role is $96,100 - $160,200. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth.
