Power BI Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI Developer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in Power BI. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights from complex data sources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report and Dashboard Development: Create and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
• Data Modeling & Transformation: Design and build data models for Power BI reports using Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create complex data transformations and calculations.
• Data Integration: Work with data from multiple sources (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, cloud services) and integrate them into Power BI for meaningful analysis.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards for faster data processing and visualization.
• User Training & Support: Provide support and training to business users in using Power BI effectively, ensuring they can access and analyze the reports independently.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, IT teams, and stakeholders to understand business needs, gather requirements, and deliver solutions that align with company goals.
• Data Governance: Ensure data quality, consistency, and security by adhering to best practices in data management and governance.
• Documentation: Document Power BI solutions and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Power BI development or a similar role.

• Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service for report creation, deployment, and management.

o Strong experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for building calculations and aggregations.

o Experience with Power Query (M language) for data transformation.

o Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with databases (SQL Server,Azure, etc.).

o Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

o Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is a plus.

o Experience with Power BI service features like Power BI Gateway, Power BI Apps, and Row-Level Security (RLS).

o Experience with integrating Power BI reports with other Microsoft tools such as Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with other BI tools like Tableau, QlikView, or SAP BusinessObjects is a plus.

• Knowledge of data visualization best practices and UX/UI principles.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
