The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA is looking for a Content Marketing Lead to join our Denver/hybrid team.
The Content Marketing Lead will spearhead our content efforts and drive brand affinity, lead generation, and customer engagement. This role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy across multiple channels, including blog, email, social media, video, audio, SEO, and more.
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Develop and manage a comprehensive content marketing strategy aligned with overall business goals.
- Create, edit, and oversee high-quality, engaging content across various platforms (website, blog, email, social, whitepapers, case studies, video scripts, etc.).
- Collaborate with web, performance marketing, design, and sales teams to align content with key campaigns and business priorities.
- Use data and analytics to measure content effectiveness and optimize future efforts.
- Manage the editorial calendar to ensure consistent publishing and messaging.
- Lead and manage freelance writers, content creators, or agencies as needed.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve content performance.
- Ensure all content maintains a consistent voice, tone, and branding.
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA’s mission, vision, and values.
- Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.
Supervisory duties
Direct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; coaching, mentoring, and providing guidance; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting goals, appraising performance, and recognizing achievements; addressing performance or behavioral issues; and resolving employee concerns.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA’s mission, vision, and values.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proven ability to develop content that drives engagement and conversions.
- Experience with SEO best practices and tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics).
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful), marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), and collaboration platforms (e.g., Asana).
- Experience in working with agencies, consultants, and/or contractors to generate compelling, specialized, and highly specific content pieces.
- Ability to think both creatively and analytically.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, editorial, or related roles. Five (5) years preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

This is a largely sedentary role, so employee must be able to remain in a sedentary position while focusing for extended periods of time throughout the workday. Position also requires occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, printers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to successfully navigate scenarios requiring the following operational abilities:
- Ability to operate PC/keyboard and other office productivity equipment
- Ability to position self to traverse/navigate around typical office setting
- Ability pull/push, lift, open/close, grasp/manipulate, transport up to 10 lbs.
