D2C GROWTH MARKETING LEAD

We're looking for a growth marketing rising star who wants to own, optimize, and scale our D2C engine. You're the type of marketer who speaks fluent growth marketing, has your finger on the pulse of what's working right now, and gets excited about teaching seasoned operators new tricks while learning from their experience. You thrive in the sweet spot where analytical rigor meets creative insight meets business strategy.
Reporting to our Director of Product Management, you'll own the full customer journey for parents and kids across our signature Book Clubs and new E-Commerce experience that links to our Book Fairs. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where you'll build systems, run experiments, and drive measurable growth across multiple D2C channels. We want someone who can move fast, stay organized, and create productive momentum without creating drama.
Base salary: $90,000 – $120,000 plus equity, benefits, and performance-based growth bonuses.
REQUIREMENTS
2–5 years of hands-on D2C growth marketing experience at a fast-paced, scaling brand
Proven success managing paid social budgets and driving measurable user growth
Strong technical marketing skills with lifecycle tools (e.g., Iterable, Klaviyo, Braze), analytics platforms (e.g., GA4, Amplitude), and self-service data analysis
Experience across multiple D2C channels: paid social, SEM, email, referrals, etc.
Excellent project management skills — organized, focused, and effective at driving cross-functional execution
Positive, collaborative energy — a team player who brings momentum and fosters an enjoyable work environment
Ability to partner effectively with Product, Engineering, Creative, and Sales teams
WE’D LOVE TO SEE
Experience contributing to copywriting, basic video editing, or other forms of content creation
Skill in aligning priorities and executing growth initiatives that launch on time
Comfort analyzing data, running A/B tests, and turning insights into actionable strategies
Experience in informing growth strategy and influencing product roadmap decisions
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and optimize the full D2C funnel, from awareness to retention
Own performance targets for subscription revenue, marketplace sales, email engagement, and repeat purchases
Manage and scale performance across paid social, SEM, YouTube, email, referrals, and emerging channels
Manage budgets, run creative tests, and report on what’s working in D2C
Apply up-to-date, platform-specific strategies and creative best practicesShare insights into evolving D2C trends, tools, and tactics
Build and optimize customer lifecycle flows, including onboarding, activation, retention, and winback
Use tools like Iterable, Klaviyo, or similar platforms to manage email, SMS, push, and website touchpoints
Collaborate with the creative team on campaign concepts, landing page optimization, and advertorials
