Job Description
We are currently seeking a Retail Internal Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be a key player in shaping and executing the Retail division’s communication strategy, ensuring the clear, concise and timely distribution of information. The position also requires continuously assessing operational efficiencies pertaining to our communication strategy and collaborating with other departments to refine and implement consistent process improvements. Applicants should have at least two years of experience in Retail, Communications or Public Relations roles. The ideal candidate also possesses strong reading comprehension skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This is an on-site position at our Carson, CA HQ location.
A day on the job looks like this:
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to create and execute communication strategies for the Retail field
- Writing, editing and proofreading division-wide memos, videos, newsletters and presentations
- Collaborating with field leaders and cross-functional partners to optimize brand standards and set strategic priorities
- Developing and enhancing standard operating procedures by identifying opportunities and determining the best communication strategy for each project
- Utilizing a detailed understanding of store-level workload and workflow to align each communication strategy effectively
- Cultivating strong and transparent working relationships across the organization to ensure open communication
- Consolidating large amounts of information into compelling, actionable and concise communications
- Using creativity to drive employee engagement and elevate employee recognition
- Moderating conference calls and group trainings
- Applying retail workflow knowledge when writing communications
- Monitoring and responding to department emails and Retail Communications Request/Survey Forms
- Creating, reviewing and editing general memo and RWU content
- Managing Retail Communications Teams group chats
- Managing the calendar for store and marketing promotions
- Maintaining SharePoint for Store Comms Hub, Retail Comms Hub, Training Hub and BTS Support Site
- Updating the Retail Contact sheet
- Using Canva to create store flyers and store support materials
- Planning for future RWUs
- Proofreading and reviewing the monthly marketing learning event packet
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- 2+ years in Retail, Communications or Public Relations positions
- Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to dictate effective notes
- Knowledge of communication techniques, formats, methodologies and cadence

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore who live within Los Angeles and Orange Counties are typically brought into the organization at an hourly rate between $24 - $30 depending on relevant experience & skillset.
This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
