Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Analyst to join our rapidly growing, collaborative and diverse organization. The Senior Payroll Analyst will play a crucial role in our operations by managing payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for our valued staff, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our business. This role requires strong analytical capabilities to manage end-to-end payroll processing and provide actionable insights into payroll trends, costs, and compliance. This role goes beyond traditional payroll processing—it requires a proactive professional who can leverage data to support strategic decision-making across overtime, benefits, and labor cost management.

What the Senior Payroll Analyst – Data & Compliance role looks like:
- Manage full-cycle weekly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Validate the accuracy of timesheets, hours worked, benefit deductions, and other payroll data; flag and resolve any discrepancies.
- Analyze payroll and labor cost data, including overtime trends, headcount shifts, and benefit utilization, to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain detailed payroll reports and dashboards for management, highlighting key trends and variances.
- Partner with Finance and HR teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and benefits analysis with payroll data insights.
- Audit weekly payroll and revenue-generating data to identify discrepancies, cost drivers, and areas of concern
- Assist in the reconciliation of payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
- Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism, providing clear and timely guidance on payroll issues.
- Continuously improve payroll processes by identifying areas for automation, accuracy improvements, or enhanced reporting.
What our ideal candidate looks like:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in data analytics and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven experience in payroll processing and analysis.
- Experience with various payroll software and systems.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and payroll regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday) and proficiency in Excel or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate payroll data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with labor cost modeling, payroll KPIs, and regulatory reporting.
Work Environment:
- Standard office setting.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to sit for up to 4 hours at a time.
