Job Description:
Entry Level QA Technician position for a Food Manufacturer. Perform processes to assure effective operation and control and to verify compliance with established standard practices.
Quality Assurance Technician Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods according to established quality control procedures.
- Physical examinations for size, shape, color, and consistency.
- Chemical analysis to ensure adherence to specifications and identify potential allergens.
- Microbiological testing to monitor for the presence of harmful bacteria.
- Analyze test data and identify any deviations from quality standards.
- Report and investigate quality control issues, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all QA activities, including test results, calibration records, and inspection reports.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and sanitary testing environment.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant food safety regulations and best practices (HACCP, GMPs).
- Work collaboratively with production, sanitation, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of quality control measures.
- Follow up with employees regarding HACCP paperwork completeness and accuracy.
- Completes daily sanitation, facility, and quality check documents.
- Weekly Thermometer verification checks.
- Weekly pH meter calibration.
- Monitors temperature of coolers and freezers routinely throughout week.
- Routine swabbing and good sampling practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Quality Assurance Technician Qualifications:
- Previous related experience preferred.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Comfortable working with numbers and understanding local and federal food regulations.
- Communication skills along with strong positive demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
