Why this role matters
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Senior Accountant who thrives on getting the numbers right and wants to be part of a high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone who’s ready to go deep on payroll, equity, accruals, and prepaids—while also playing a key support role across our accounting operations. You’ll report directly to the Director of Finance and own core accounting functions across our entities in the USA, Canada, and Europe.
What you’ll own & drive
Core Accounting Ops 👀
Payroll accounting: Prepare and book payroll and benefits-related entries (salaries, bonuses, commissions, taxes, 401k, healthcare, etc.) across multiple international entities.
Equity accounting: Maintain accurate records of stock compensation, including monthly journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with ASC 718.
Accruals & prepaids: Own recurring month-end entries including accruals for vendors, bonuses, and spend; manage and maintain prepaid amortization schedules.
Close support: Help maintain a tech-first, BD5-close calendar. Reconcile bank accounts, run key GL entries, and support variance analysis that feeds internal reporting.
Audit support: Prepare PBCs and support walkthroughs for our US financial audit; liaise with international consultants for statutory filings and compliance across North America and Europe.
Ad-hoc & Systems Projects 🧠
Process improvement: Work with your manager and VP of Accounting to streamline workflows and reduce manual entries using NetSuite, Google Sheets, and automation tools.
Cross-functional initiatives: Support one-off projects involving payroll, finance systems, vendor cleanup, or other cross-functional improvements as needed.
What we are looking for
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or a venture-backed tech environment.
Solid understanding of US GAAP, especially around payroll, accruals, and equity compensation; familiarity with international compliance is a plus.
Experience supporting multi-entity accounting across USA, Canada, and Europe.
Comfortable working in NetSuite (or similar ERP) and Excel/Google Sheets; experience with payroll and equity systems (e.g., Rippling, Carta) a plus.
Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-obsessed—while still seeing the bigger picture.
Demonstrate initiative by taking responsibility for tasks and contributing to key processes—have an ownership mindset.
Able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across departments while keeping accounting best practices at the core.
What success looks like after 12 months
Month-end close processes for payroll, equity, accruals, and prepaids are fully documented, accurate, and owned.
Journal entries and reconciliations for your areas consistently completed before BD5 with zero material rework.
You’re seen as a go-to person on the accounting team—able to independently tackle assigned areas and proactively support broader team priorities.
