Job Description
Funnel Leasing Inc., is hiring for an Manager, DevOps that can 'work from anywhere' in the U.S. As a Manager, DevOps you will be responsible for leading day-to-day operations of the DevOps function, including the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment strategies. This role supports the scalability, efficiency, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure and development workflows. The Manager will guide a team of DevOps Engineers, promote DevOps best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, and platform teams to drive automation, governance, and continuous improvement. Salary range for this role is $160,000 - $175,000/year.

The Manager, DevOps essential roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Roles and responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, supporting their growth and performance
- Lead day-to-day DevOps operations, including incident response, deployment coordination, and infrastructure reliability
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and infrastructure stakeholders to align DevOps efforts with business goals
- Define and track team goals, KPIs, and operational metrics
- Infrastructure & Automation
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure on AWS (e.g., EC2, EKS, RDS, SQS, S3, CloudWatch)
- Guide infrastructure-as-code development using Terraform and Git workflows
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for system performance visibility and operational awareness
- Oversee the deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters in production environments
- Champion automation of manual workflows and system tasks via Python and Bash scripting
- CI/CD & Platform Reliability
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure consistent, repeatable, and secure software delivery workflows
- Support incident management and root cause analysis for infrastructure and deployment-related issues
- Apply security best practices to infrastructure, OS, and application layers
- DevOps Governance & Best Practices
- Champion DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and proactive incident prevention
- Implement process improvements and governance standards that promote secure, repeatable, and auditable infrastructure and deployments
- Support disaster recovery, configuration management, and compliance with internal security policies
- Culture & Continuous Improvement
- Foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and operational excellence
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team and across engineering disciplines
- Stay current on DevOps trends and emerging technologies to inform ongoing improvements
- Other Duties
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by management
- Travel: Up to 5% as needed
Education, Work Experience, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps or platform engineering roles
- 3+ years of experience managing or mentoring engineers in a technical environment
- Deep experience with AWS infrastructure and services
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes operations and support
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code and automation tooling (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows, Git operations, and cloud-native infrastructure
- Experience implementing monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog)
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with SRE principles and incident response best practices is a plus
- Understanding of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or PCI-DSS
