We’re excited to be adding a Technical Engagement Manager to our growing team! This is an engaging and challenging opportunity that plays an intricate role in shaping the development of our upcoming connected safety products. We are looking for a creative, customer-obsessed and results-oriented Technical Engagement Manager who wants to live on the edge of technologies that bring software and hardware together, within the connected home.

This Tech Engagement Manager will help oversee the efforts of working with integration partners to build world-class mobile and hardware solutions using our commercial API and mobile SDK. You’ll help build smart security experiences that people love.

POSITION LOCATION:

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with work performed in Deerfield, Illinois OR San Francisco, CA (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays).

This position will report to the Director, Software Product Management.


Responsibilities:
●    Serving as designated technical manager for assigned partner engagements where external partners and customers use our commercial APIs and mobile SDKs to communicate with Master Lock cLOTO smart safety software. 
●    Developing and managing timelines, raising awareness of problems that need additional support from others to ensure partner success.
●    Ensuring customer success. Anticipating and solving partner issues. Identifying risks and developing mitigation plans.
●    Providing responsive, day-to-day management of the engagement. Serving as the primary point of contact for development partners throughout the engagement.
●    Partnering with leadership to assemble and onboard an engagement team of support engineers, API developers, SDK developers and quality assurance engineers appropriate for the engagement.
●    Managing the flow of internal and external implementation activities and deliverables.
●    Maintaining regular communication with partners, providing routine updates on technical progress to internal and external stakeholders. Surfacing any risks and/or partner feedback.
●    Leading planning sessions with external developers and internal engagement teams.
●    Defining success criteria, scope and deliverables in collaboration with the partner, internal business teams, engagement team and product management.
●    Closing out project, offboarding engagement teams, and ensuring success criteria were met.
●    Participating in the company innovation process to guide work throughout the engagement from inception to commercial review.
●    Contributing to reviewing the legal agreements regarding the use of the SDK and API technologies by specific partners. Helping draft and review statements of work related to particular partner engagements.

●    Ability to travel up to 25% domestically 
 

Qualifications

●    2+ years of experience in software development project management, preferably working with external product development partners

●    Solid project management background, time management skills and attention to detail.
●    Experience managing solutions that use REST APIs
●    BA/BS degree preferred, in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
●    Familiarity with Agile methodologies
●    Experience using Zendesk, JIRA or equivalent tool for issue management tracking and reporting.
●    Experience with solutions involving mobile technologies, connected devices (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), cloud services and device firmware

 ●  Some experience with IoT and networked products is a nice to have

Additional Information:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $69,000 USD - $99,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
