Description

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator supports the daily functions of the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and HR policy compliance. This role acts as a liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth and confidential communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions.  The HR Coordinator aids with and facilitates HR processes and provides customer-focused HR support to the organization at all locations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists FeedMore’s recruiting efforts including resume screening, completing phone interviews, interview scheduling, and drafting offer letters
  • Coordinates onboarding, including performing background checks, processing pre-employment documents and other related tasks
  • Maintains and updates virtual and physical employee records, including filing documents, to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Supports payroll, benefits and leaves administration by collecting and verifying relevant documentation
  • Responds to HR related inquiries and requests, including coordination with any HR-related vendors;  
  • Conducts new hire orientations, stay surveys and exit interviews 
  • Coordinates training sessions and assists in the development of new sessions as needed
  • Assists with the review and development of policies and procedures, Employee Handbook changes, and standard operating procedures  
  • Assists with employee engagement efforts as capacity allows and under the guidance of the Chief People Officer
  • Assists with employee relations matters, including confidential interviews and progressive discipline activities as needed
  • Serves as a point of contact with HRIS vendor and takes ownership of system requests and changes
  • Provides HR reporting as requested and scheduled and ensures compliance with labor laws and internal policies
  • Ensures clear and ongoing communication with all key stakeholders for efforts managed and always maintains the utmost in confidentiality on all matters at all times, only disclosing to appropriate leadership
  • Provides administrative support to the HR team, Executive Vice President of People and Finance and President and CEO, as requested
  • Assists with any and all mission work as needed and requested with some or no prior notice including, but not limited to: serving as a truck spotter, helping with Farm Market/Community Garden/Freight Farms/on and off-site food distributions, preparation of meals and serving home-delivered meals 
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role
  • Familiarity with HR software (HRIS systems) and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to interpret employment legislation, policies and agreements
  • Able to work independently on a broad variety of projects and also be effective in a team environment
  • Able to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, confidentially, and creativity to changing needs and situations
  • Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred 
  • Current & valid NYS driver’s license and access to an automobile 
  • Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 20 lbs.
