The Role

We're seeking a DevOps contractor to design, build, and manage our cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS CDK and our TypeScript codebase. This role involves close collaboration with the development team to create scalable, serverless solutions and implement strong CI/CD pipelines. As a DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to optimizing our software delivery process, enhancing reliability, and providing support for production systems. This position requires working across various environments and teams, with a focus on infrastructure rather than application development from the ground up.

Your Impact

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS CDK, Terraform, and TypeScript.
  • Develop and optimize AWS ECS and serverless applications leveraging AWS Lambda.
  • Establish and streamline CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and improve reliability.
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS (RDS/Aurora).
  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for infrastructure observability.
  • Enforce and improve security standards across all infrastructure components.
  • Automate operational tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve production issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure architecture and deployment processes.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, offering infrastructure insights and best practices.

The Ideal Match

  • 3+ years of proven DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with AWS CDK, Terraform, and TypeScript.
  • Extensive experience building, deploying, and monitoring AWS ECS & Lambda functions.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience managing PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Excellent Linux/Unix administration skills, including shell scripting.
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Expert-level experience with Git version control systems and branching strategies.
  • Demonstrable experience deploying and managing production-level AWS environments.
  • Practical knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration fundamentals.

Bonus Points

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, DevOps Engineer).
  • Familiarity with advanced monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Knowledge of security scanning, compliance tooling, and best practices.
  • Background with infrastructure testing frameworks or practices.
