Job Summary:

e.l.f. Beauty is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented R&D Intern to assist in the development, testing, and research of color cosmetics and skincare products. This internship offers a unique opportunity for those eager to pursue a career in R&D, as you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Project Management (PM), Product Development (PD), Packaging Development, and Quality, to bring innovative product concepts to life. This hands-on role requires a deep love for beauty and a commitment to excellence.


Key Responsibilities:


Sample Management: Track, organize, and distribute formula submission samples and those for claims and safety testing.


Feedback Loop Management: Assist in managing the feedback loop for formula submissions and safety claims, ensuring accurate tracking and timely follow-up.


Data Organization: Populate trackers with essential data, create tables, templates, and organize project folders for streamlined workflow.


Testing Coordination: Manage incoming formula samples, coordinate safety and claims testing, and ensure samples are sent out promptly for evaluation.


Product Evaluation: Participate in product testing, gather feedback, and contribute to texture assessments and other hands-on evaluations.


Learning & Development Opportunities:


Formulation Knowledge: Gain insights into formulations, including emulsions, cleansers, and raw materials.


Product Development Process: Learn about the critical steps involved in taking a product from the lab to market.


Clinical and Safety Testing: Obtain an overview of clinical and safety testing, with potential on-site visits or training at a testing lab.


Hands-On Experience: Work directly with e.l.f. products, participating in texture assessments and other product evaluations.


Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a scientific/chemical/engineering discipline

1-2 years of work experience preferred

High attention to detail and thorough organization

Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills

Proven track record of high level of detail orientation

Proficiency in Excel for data management and analysis

Competence in PowerPoint for creating presentations and organizing information
