About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and seasoned Construction Project Manager II to plan and supervise a wide range of major capital new construction and renovation projects within the Central Coast of California from start to finish, specifically in the Ventura and Oxnard area. Working closely with a site superintendent, you will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The goal of this role is to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, strong organizational skills, and must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.

Job Duties:
    • You will maintain confidentiality around financial strategies and internal budgeting discussions
    • You will determine resources needed from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations (i.e. equipment, materials, team headcount, etc.)
    • You will plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met
    • You will collaborate with site Superintendents, Subcontractors, Inspectors, Engineers, Architects, and etc. on a daily basis to ensure projects are completed on time and are within budget
    • You will build strong professional working relationships with key stakeholders
    • You will manage all change orders completely and evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
    • You will submit monthly progress billings, ensure labor compliance and documentation needs are met
    • You will create and maintain construction scheduling, phasing, and sequencing
    • You will ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
    • You will deliver private and public commercial projects successfully from inception to completion
    • You will formulate appropriate and negotiate prime and subcontract agreements, safeguarding company interests and incorporating acceptable terms 
    • You will manage budgets and schedule through proactive planning and management 
    • You will communicate effectively orally and through written correspondence 
    • You will promote safety and site cleanliness when visiting job site and implement, enforce, and effectively manage ECG’s safety policy and procedures.
    • You will provide strategic training support and mentorship to other project management team members and new hires
    • You will adopt company culture centered around honesty, integrity, and continuous improvement
Professional Skills:
  • BSc/BA in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Science or relevant field preferred 
  • Proven experience as construction project manager
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Familiarity with construction / project management software, Procore preferred 
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Project, Gmail and G Suite, CPM Scheduling software. 
  • Familiarity and oversight experience for direct performed trade work including earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, and framing. 
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage

Physical Requirements:

Performance of the required duties will require the following:

  • Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock

A typical hiring range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 USD per year with the final salary offer based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
