Take on a key leadership position as our Director of Project Management! Based in our vibrant, data-driven Westlake office, you will lead a talented team of project managers to execute complex, cross-functional initiatives. What Your Responsibilities Will Look Like:
· Oversee the project management processes, templates, and tools with a focus on standardization and repeatability.
· Manage and mentor a team of project managers, ensuring adherence to project governance, timelines, and deliverables.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including executive leadership to define project priorities, scope, and strategic alignment.
· Proactively identify project risks and dependencies and develop mitigation strategies.
· Lead the end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional claim and payment data projects.
· Ability to translate complex technical and SQL-based data solutions into clear, actionable plans for stakeholders.
· Ensure strong alignment between technical teams and business objectives.
· Support pre-sales or client onboarding efforts by contributing to technical project planning and feasibility.
· Monitor and report on key project metrics, timelines, deliverables, and resource utilization.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives for project management methodologies in a data-centric environment.
· Serve as an escalation point for project risks and conflicts.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
· Must have high level of professional poise and comfort when leading discussions with decision makers, end-users and IT professionals.
· Must have demonstrated ability to ask questions of the business, formulate action plans, and execute and deliver successful projects independently and of high quality.
· Develop a deep understanding of the various business products, processes, applications and technology platforms and effectively communicate the same.
Qualifications to Be Director, Project Management:
· 10+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
· Previous experience in the Healthcare, Property & Casualty, and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management insurance industry with a thorough understanding of claim and payment processing. Familiarity with healthcare data formats and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, claims, EDI data).
· High sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
· Polished verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, excellent organization with outstanding documentation and follow-up discipline.
· Exceptional critical thinking skills with a solution focused perspective. This position requires demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills at all levels of business, including interacting with staff and external business parties at senior levels.
· Demonstrated success in leading project teams through complex initiatives with competing priorities and tight deadlines. Well organized and detail oriented with demonstrated effective time management. The ability to effectively manage a dynamic daily schedule and workload flexibility is required.
· The ideal candidate will have a self-starter attitude, ability to work with ambiguity, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to take initiative in problem solving.
· High level of proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Smartsheet) and Microsoft projects (Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
· Expertise in managing client issues and relationships; proven experience in building and growing relationships.
· Ability to travel on an as-needed basis.
· Experience with Agile, Scrum, and hybrid methodologies.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktops, servers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Requirements for Director, Project Management:
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; stooping, bending, or twisting and lift up to 25 pounds.
