Job Description

Datex Business Center located in Clearwater, Florida is seeking a Coworking Space Manager to innovate a new shared workspace in our two beautiful office buildings. This is an exciting opportunity to create a new concept within a well-established company.

Your Initial Duties:

  • Analyzing Current Assets and Future Needs: Working with what we have, making suggestions for what is needed.
  • Space Requirements: Determining the number of potential lessees and accommodations needed to maximize space.
  • Future Growth: Planning for potential expansion or changes in available space.
  • Optimizing Layout and Function: floor plan configuration and work space placement.
  • Zoning: Designating specific areas for different activities, like workstations, shared coworking spaces, private offices, collaboration spaces, meeting rooms, reception, and kitchen areas.
  • Furniture Selection: Analyze current assets and suggest what is needed.
  • Technology Integration: Ensuring adequate power outlets, data ports, and technology support for all areas.
  • Acoustic Management: Implementing solutions to minimize noise and distractions, especially in open-plan offices.
  • Comfort and Aesthetics: Creating a pleasant and inviting environment that boosts guest traffic and desire to rent.

Your Day-To-Day:

  • Operations: Managing the day-to-day running of the space, including things like supplier management, invoicing, payments, and facility management.
  • Sales and Marketing: Promoting the space, giving tours, and attracting new members; identify key groups of potential new renter members such as small businesses, startups, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and digital nomads; coordinating and managing tours for potential new members.
  • Space Management: Ensuring the space is well-maintained, equipped with necessary amenities, and used efficiently. 
  • Virtual Office Management: Manage daily virtual tenant needs such as answering calls, sorting mail and receiving packages.

To be successful in this role, you must be located in the United States and you must be authorized to work for U.S. companies without sponsorship.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, similar preferred.
  • Experience: 2-4 years in coworking space management, rental office management, leasing, or similar roles.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to tackle project timelines and prioritize needs.
    • Comfortable using tech tools commonly found in coworking spaces (e.g. Google Workspace, Slack, Teams, etc).
    • Experience with social media and creating content.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Personal Traits:
    • Ready to work on-site, every day in Clearwater.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Fluent in English; multiple languages are a plus.
    • High ethical standards and reliability.
  • Legal Requirements: Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Customer Service and people skills: Ensures that everyone, whether they’re thinking about joining or already part of the space, feels appreciated and important. Spread the excitement! Listen to members’ ideas, handle any concerns with care, and take feedback seriously to improve the community.
  • Responsibility and ownership: Take full responsibility for how the coworking space operates. This means keeping track of the essentials: like finances, member interactions/disagreements, and any challenges that come up. 
  • Brand engagement: Create meaningful connections with local groups that may be interested in the shared space.
  • Strong dedication: The coworking community’s success relies heavily on the Community Manager’s enthusiasm and commitment, believes in the space’s mission and is passionate about supporting Datex values of professionalism, trust, and safety.

Base compensation: $75k to $90k depending on experience.
