Job Description

Control Risks is hiring Executive Protection Specialist to be responsible for ensuring the safety, privacy, and well-being of a single high-profile individual through meticulous planning, discreet personal security, and seamless logistical coordination. This role demands unwavering discretion, physical readiness, and the ability to operate independently in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments.

  • Provide close protection and maintain a secure environment for the client in residential, travel, and event settings.
  • Conduct detailed advance work, including site surveys, travel planning, and event security assessments.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats using proactive risk management and real-time intelligence.
  • Implement and enforce protective protocols, including access control at residences, offices, and temporary locations.
  • Accompany the client during domestic and international travel, managing transportation, routes, and contingencies.
  • Act as the primary liaison for security incidents, executing emergency plans, including medical response coordination.
  • Collaborate with internal security teams, external agencies, and law enforcement to ensure seamless protection.
  • Support the integration and monitoring of security systems and technology at key locations.
  • Provide logistical and operational support to enhance client privacy, comfort, and efficiency.
  • Stay informed of relevant geopolitical or local developments that may impact security posture.
  • Prepare security briefs and updates for the client and support staff on emerging threats and trends.
  • Develop and communicate detailed event protection plans to stakeholders and team members.
  • Continuously assess and recommend improvements to security strategies, procedures, and infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Completion of formal executive protection training from a recognized institution (government or private).
  • At least 10 years of executive protection experience, with 5+ years in a corporate or private setting.
  • Certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • Advanced training in firearms, defensive tactics, and evasive/defensive driving.
  • Ability to travel frequently—including internationally—often with short notice.
  • LEOSA credential preferred but not required.
  • Eligible to obtain state-specific security licensure.
  • Flexible availability to work extended shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong commitment to discretion and confidentiality, with a proven ability to operate independently under pressure.
  • Valid U.S. passport and driver’s license required.
  • Excellent physical condition and medical fitness to perform security duties and respond to emergencies.

The base salary range for this position in Washington, DC will fall between $170000-$180000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
