The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager. This position is responsible for optimizing efforts in safety, quality, and productivity using engineering principles and analytical techniques to advance continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and products. Improve manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment & manufacturing processes for component fabrication and assembly. Project management. Manufacturing documentation (SOPs, Work Instructions) and drawings.


Responsibilities:

  • Support of daily production meetings, working closely with production team to drive all engineering actions across fabrication and assembly to improve manufacturing processes & throughput.
  • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control. Analyze root causes, map processes and propose & implement corrective actions.
  • Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives while sharing best practices across departments
  • or multiple sites. Design and implement CAPEX projects with acceptable ROI delivering improvements in Quality and throughput
  • Invent new ideas and systems to reduce the cost of manufacturing of musical instruments and components,
  • and assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to use SolidWorks, Mastercam for design and additive manufacturing.
  • Evaluate and solve or assist with evaluating day-to-day problems. Experienced in using and understanding Engineering Change Management disciplines
  • Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  •  Product launches and ensuring manufacturing launch readiness and control plans


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • At least 3 years working experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledgeable PC user with CAD experience.
  • Able to be a self-starter in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience required.
  • Familiar with engineering/manufacturing tools and terms.
  • People oriented with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Requires long periods of sedentary work.
  • Requires some traveling.
  • Requires repetitive upper body movement – keyboard and monitor use.
