Please note that this internship is only for current college students who are attending a college/university within driving distance to our office in Durham, NC.

The Information Technology Intern will work collaboratively with the Corporate IT team to help support Clarkston’s internal help desk, infrastructure and IT strategic initiatives to provide high quality IT support to the internal workforce while improving our technology and security posture.  Other responsibilities include:

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the IT team, leadership and stewards to provide high quality Help Desk support to the organization.
  • Provide assistance and troubleshooting support to stewards for resolving technical issues related to computer systems, networks, and software.
  • Support creation and modification of Corporate IT policies, processes and procedures.
  • Assist with various IT projects, such as network upgrades, software deployment and system optimization.
  • Assist with exploration of new technologies and solutions to improve IT infrastructure and services
  • Handle multiple tickets and initiatives simultaneously and resolve possible conflicts

Miscellaneous

We would prefer an intern who lives locally in the RDU area and is able to support a hybrid position. The intern would work at our office in Durham twice per week, and work remotely the rest of the week.

Our office hours are 8:30PM-5:30PM Monday - Friday. We are seeking an intern to work 10-20 hours per week during standard office hours during the school year and full-time during the summer. We are flexible in creating a standard work week to fit a student’s class schedule.

What We're Looking For:

  • A student who is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university with a focus in computer science, information technology, information security or equivalent
  • Comfortable using the suite of Microsoft Software Products
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with an emphasis on professional writing 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to support identification and resolution of technical issues 
  • Self-motivated team player with strong leadership and organizational skills 
  • Ability to execute responsibilities to a high quality and with minimal direction 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a help desk/desktop services environment
  • Familiarity with MS 365, Azure, or AWS
