Fleet at DCAS manages all NYC vehicles, equipment, fuel, leasing, and related services. The City’s fleet is the nation’s largest municipal fleet with over 29,000 vehicles, $1 billion in annual costs, and 1,800 full time staff. NYC Fleet leads Mayoral initiatives in safety as part of Vision Zero and sustainability as part of NYC Clean Fleet. NYC Fleet manages one of the leading fleet sustainability programs in the country including electric cars, biofuels, design efficiencies, and solar carports. Fleet partners widely with government, non-profits, and others to promote sustainability. NYC Fleet operates one of the nation’s largest electric fleets and charging networks.
The Sustainability Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of Fleet Sustainability. Tasks include activating new charging stations, creating and issuing new EV cards, monitoring agency EV usage and charging, and generating reports on this topic. The coordinator also works to advance the City’s portfolio on biofuels including biodiesel, bioheat, and renewable diesel.
The responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:
- Work on grant funding opportunities and coordination with MOCEJ on weekly grant updates
- EV Charger network monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of maintenance items
- Parts ordering and replacement, and resolution of software issues with manufacturers
- Con Edison coordination and dispatch of Field Services units
- Site inspections and inter-agency coordination for new EV charger installs.
- Vendor scheduling and coordination
- Work on City biofuels initiatives including biodiesel, bioheat, and renewable diesel.
- Assist with event coordination including the annual NYC Fleet Show, Vision Zero Fleet Safety Forum, and other events as needed. Maintain network of partner public and private fleets.
- Work with City agencies and partner lines of service at DCAS on these efforts.
- Perform related work.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited CUNY college in a major related to the work in which the fellow will be trained, and perform in the particular position.
