POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing business needs, documenting business requirements, writing test cases and creating process flows. The Analyst will assist with project management tasks, such as drafting comprehensive project plans, overseeing budget allocations, and ensuring adherence to timelines.


The ideal candidate is a quick learner who will learn the intricacies of business processes across the Company and understand their impact on strategic projects. This role requires a proactive individual to coordinate the efforts of internal and external team members to deliver projects according to plan.


This role also requires someone who is comfortable switching between business analysis and project management duties, as may be required by project needs. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Project Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Business Analysis:
  • Work with business owners and stakeholders to understand their business processes. Identify process improvement opportunities. 
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements, process flows and future state requirements. Write and manage test cases that trace back to business requirements.
  • Support change management efforts, including training and adoption planning.
  • Facilitate end-user testing and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • General Analytics:
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions. Proactively review data and identify & recommend opportunities.
  • Problem-Solving: Apply analytical thinking to solve complex business problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Requirements Gathering: Conduct thorough requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable project plans.
  • Documentation:
  • Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain thorough project documentation, including project charters, requirements documents, and user manuals.
  • Process Documentation: Document business processes and workflows to ensure clarity and consistency across the organization. Helps design, document and maintain system processes as needed.
  • Meeting Minutes: Record detailed meeting minutes and action items to ensure accountability and follow-up.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing project progress, risks, and recommendations.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in business analyst or project management, preferably in investment management, private equity, financial services or consulting. Must have contributed to the execution of multiple projects from inception to implementation.
  • Active or pursuing Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) or similar.
  • Familiarity with Waterfall, hybrid & Agile /Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (incl. Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.)) and Visio.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong  interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in eliciting business requirements and documentation with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and influence others to achieve common goals.

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. The role is considered non-exempt so will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law. At CIM, this role has the potential to receive a discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The anticipated base pay range for the position in Los Angeles, California is $36.06 - $45.67 per hour.
