Position Summary

The Market Engagement Officer (MEO) will promote the organization’s suite of loan, investment, and services to developers, small businesses and individuals in the subject market. The ideal candidate will create supplemental referral networks to existing loan officers, targeting community organizations and other new audiences with the goal of deploying more financial and knowledge capital to the local community. The MEO will operate with a client-centered approach in cultivating partner and pipeline opportunities and ensuring a smooth handoff to relevant Momentus Capital teams. This position will report to the Market Lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

●      Generate market awareness for Momentus Capital and its products and services.

●      Create new lending and investment opportunities for Momentus Loan Officers.

●      Partner with Market Lead and in-market BDO’s or Loan Officers (where applicable) to create marketing plans to identify and reach new, supplemental audiences which may include community organizations, government agencies and other entities that seek to support entrepreneurs. 

●      Refer leads to the right capital deployment team by being able to identify the right loan, investment or service that best fits the client’s needs.

●      Complete basic review of leads (loan size, borrower type, industry) and ensure potential applicants are referred to the right capital deployment team.

●      Gather qualitative and quantitative data about our own and our competitors’ product offerings and identify areas for where we can improve our value proposition to the market.

●      Analyze market trends and opportunities and identify market gaps to inform strategy, new product development and assist with the development and implementation of products, services and special initiatives in the Region.

●      Identify opportunities to establish relationships and increase authentic engagement with potential borrowers, external stakeholders, and other community groups to further our mission and deepen our impact.

●      Manage, initiate, and cultivate relationships with prospects and borrowers, market partners, and other community stakeholders within our sectors, focusing on historically underrepresented communities.

●      Collaborate with other Momentus Capital teams for cross-marketing opportunities.

●      Represent Momentus Capital at industry functions, working groups, conferences, webinars, groundbreakings, and other events.

●      Assist the Regional Lead in responding to all loan inquiries in the market within 24-48 hours.

●      Coordinate information sharing across Momentus teams in the local market.

●      Assist Marketing and Communications team in producing communications about our lending and other initiatives in the market. Ensuring that communications materials remain accurate and up to date.

●      Assist in reporting to funders and investors on specific lending programs in the market.

●      Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or finance related field from a recognized college or university or equivalent qualifying experience in business development.

●      Ability to understand and sell multiple products/services, each with different audiences.

●      Extensive network with centers of influence in the local market.

●      Minimum 5 years of business development experience in at least one of the following areas:

o   Small Business Administration (SBA) 7a and 504 Loan Products

o   New Market Tax Credit Financing

o   Affordable Housing Lending, Education or Healthcare

o   Investments

●      Strong public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to sit on or present at industry panels & conferences. 

●      Proven track record of prospecting and developing referral networks.

The salary range for this position is $106,559 - $120,000 and is eligible for an annual incentive.

 

This role is eligible to work hybrid in Atlanta, GA.
