Palliative and Supportive Care at Cabrini Health
Cabrini's palliative and supportive care service offers compassionate and expert care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, providing support for pain and symptom management.
The inpatient service at Malvern consists of an 18 single room unit, supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team.
How you will build your expertise within Cabrini's Postgraduate Nursing Program:
Cabrini Health is offering Postgraduate Nursing Program (Palliative care) to current Cabrini staff or we welcome expressions of interest from Registered Nurses with Palliative Care experience seeking to upskill and obtain a postgraduate qualification to join our team.
The program commences in March 2026 for a period of 12 months in affiliation with Monash University.
Course summary:
Palliative and end-of-life care are developing at local and national levels within multiple healthcare settings. Organisations required practitioners with the specialist skills and attitudes provided by this course whether experienced practitioners or graduates with basic palliative care skills. Graduates can find careers in areas ranging from rural and remote, acute, community, acute hospitals and aged care settings, to palliative care units and hospice care.

On successful completion of the program, the Registered Nurses will have gained sufficient credits for award of a Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care.

To be eligible for the Cabrini Postgraduate Nursing program you will have:
Australian working rights
Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
A minimum of 2 years nursing experience post registration
Victorian Working with Children Check (if applicable)
Commitment to quality patient care and outcomes
The ability to work within the Mission and Values of the organisation
Flexibility and a positive attitude
Enthusiasm for participation in a team environment
Excellent customer service focus and communication skills
Course commences March 2026. Interviews may be held via Teams or face to face from August 2025.
