The Role
As part of CAA’s Global Safety & Security Organization, the Security Systems Engineer will support the coordination and implementation of security technology systems in collaboration with physical security operations leadership and interdepartmental partners such as IT and Facilities. This role will assist in researching, evaluating, and maintaining physical security tools and systems to enhance security operations.
Key responsibilities include assisting with access control, video management/surveillance, alarms, smart cameras, emergency and mass communication platforms, and security-related document management systems. The Analyst will help track system performance, liaise with vendors, and provide administrative and technical support for security technology initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented team player with a strong technical aptitude and an interest in security operations. They should be eager to learn, proactive in problem-solving, and capable of handling both routine tasks and special projects as assigned. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Global Security Systems, Data, and Analytics.
Responsibilities
Security Technology Support & Standards
- Assisting in the maintenance and documentation of physical security system standards, policies, and system upgrades.
- Supporting the implementation of security technology solutions in alignment with corporate security strategy and budget guidelines.
- Staying informed on security equipment standards and emerging technology to provide research support for system improvements.
Installation, Upgrades & System Support
- Design and configure security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection
- Assisting with the coordination of new security system installations, upgrades, and maintenance, including alarm systems, access controls, video cameras, and other physical security equipment.
- Supporting the documentation and tracking of security system requests and security audit findings.
- Helping to maintain operational processes to ensure adherence to security standards.
- Assisting in troubleshooting and escalating security system issues as needed.
Vendor Coordination
- Supporting vendor coordination for security system maintenance, installations, and upgrades.
- Assisting with product research, feasibility assessments, and tracking security system projects.
- Maintaining records of vendor communications and system performance metrics.
Audits & Compliance
- Assisting in the administration of access control audits and other security-related compliance processes.
- Supporting data tracking and reporting to ensure security systems are operating effectively.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in a related field, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology preferred.
- Extensive experience in corporate security and workplace safety preferred.
- Experience in Genetec access control, video management, and intrusion detection systems preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in managing the operation and installation of regional and/or global physical security systems and security software, additional years of experience in a leadership capacity a plus.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with the Security Integrator Industry.
- Knowledge and experience in working with information technology security application and practices.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and protocols
- Strong sense of teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities. Able to work collaboratively and build productive relationships, both external and internal - across levels and functions.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Advances skills in all Microsoft products.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
Location: This is an on-site role based out of our Los Angeles office, requiring Monday-Thursday in office and Friday's work to be remote.
Compensation The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $110,000 - $130,000 in Los Angeles. This position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
