Bridgit is a female-founded, Canadian success story. Mallorie Brodie and Lauren Lake lead a SaaS company that has completely disrupted a traditionally male-dominated industry.

The construction industry is facing a severe labor shortage. The industry is at an inflection point where they must reimagine talent and modernize their people strategy. Bridgit is the category leader for workforce planning and working with the largest and most sophisticated US general contractors. Although we have continued to gain traction since launching in 2019, there is significant opportunity ahead as we continue to innovate and broaden our offering. 

What you will do

As a Principal Product Designer at Bridgit, you will shape the future of our product ecosystem, driving cohesive experiences, elevating design excellence, and defining the long-term product design vision for Bridgit Bench. You will also be part of a cross-functional squad alongside a product manager and engineers to deliver intuitive, user-centric solutions. 

  • Vision & Strategy: Drive the design vision and contribute to company-wide product strategy, connecting design excellence with business impact.
  • Product Leadership: Act as the primary designer on a squad while operating beyond a single squad to architect end-to-end experiences across the product, ensuring coherence and user delight.
  • Customer Empathy: Lead research efforts to deeply understand customer pain points, translating insights into strategic product opportunities.
  • Scalable Systems: Design elegant, modular solutions that scale across the product and use cases, balancing innovation with usability.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure technically feasible, high-quality execution of complex design solutions.
  • Data-Informed Design: Apply behavioral analytics and experimentation to inform and refine designs, always tying work back to measurable outcomes.
  • Design System: Support the evolution of Bridgit’s design system, maintaining visual harmony, interaction consistency, and efficiency across teams.
  • Mentorship & Influence: Uplift the design team through mentorship, design critiques, and by modeling best practices in product thinking and execution.
  • Forward-Looking Innovation: Stay ahead of design trends and emerging technologies, including AI, to continuously elevate how we work and what we deliver.

Who you are

  • You have 8+ years of experience designing web-based SaaS products, with a portfolio that showcases your ability to deliver elegant, scalable solutions in complex environments.
  • You are a visionary systems thinker who can connect abstract strategy with detailed execution.
  • You are deeply user-centered, with a strong research mindset and an ability to turn complex challenges into intuitive experiences.
  • You are fluent in data-informed design, using both quantitative and qualitative methods to guide and validate your work.
  • You are confident navigating ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information, and helping others find clarity.
  • You have a strong command of responsive design, accessibility, interaction patterns, and visual design principles.
  • You have exceptional communication skills, enabling you to align stakeholders, facilitate collaboration, and drive consensus.
  • You’re a collaborative leader who uplifts others, promotes design excellence, and leads by example.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, balancing strategic thinking with executional speed.
  • You bring a mindset of continuous learning and improvement, and are excited by what’s next for the future of design in construction tech.
