The Role
Global Private Wealth Marketing is responsible for driving awareness of the Blue Owl brand and product offerings with financial advisors and high-net worth clients, generating leads for sales to deepen market share and grow adoption of Blue Owl strategies, and supporting fundraising initiatives globally. We are seeking a detail-oriented, entrepreneurial event associate to join the Private Wealth Client Engagement & Education team. The events associate is responsible for planning, managing and executing in-person events for the financial advisor community on behalf of the rapidly growing Blue Owl Private Wealth business. The individual will work globally across major industry events, distribution partner conferences and Blue Owl-hosted proprietary events and will help develop and execute marketing plans to support the event and follow-up activity. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the private wealth channel, strong project management skills, and the ability to bring key strategic priorities to life with compelling event programming.
Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead end-to-end project management for bespoke private wealth events, including agenda management, coordinating speakers, giveaway items and on-site event management.
- Manage the planning process and work closely with our conference partners to coordinate booth logistics and giveaways, ensuring a high-quality client experience and seamless execution from initial planning to post-event follow-up.
- Develop detailed project plans and timelines for each event and ensure adherence to these plans.
- Manage internal and external approval process with compliance.
Agenda Design and Content Preparation:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design event agendas that are engaging, informative, and aligned with business goals.
- The events associate will create, maintain and review a variety of event documentation including hotel rooming lists, invite lists, speaker biographies, registration reports and executive briefings.
- Work with the content team on marketing collateral needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure alignment and support for event initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry associations.
Speaker Management:
- Identify and secure high-caliber speakers for events, including firm executives, investment professionals, and portfolio strategists.
- Manage speaker logistics, including calendar coordination and pre-event preparation.
On-Site Coordination and Activation:
- Oversee on-site event activation, including venue setup, audio-visual requirements, and attendee lead capture.
- Ensure a seamless and engaging experience for all event participants, including speakers and attendees.
Post-Event Follow-Up:
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the effectiveness of events and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage post-event communications, including thank-you notes, feedback surveys, and follow-up meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of event marketing experience within financial services required, with a focus on investment products or alternative asset classes preferred
- Strong knowledge of the private wealth channel and the needs of high-net-worth clients.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative event concepts and solutions.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $115,000 to $125,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
