Core Responsibilities:

  • Own the Accounting Function: Oversee all GL accounting, month-end close, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations for fiat and crypto, across 5 consolidated legal entities.

  • Lead Financial Close: Manage the monthly, quarterly and yearly close process, consistently achieving monthly close targets and improving speed and accuracy over time.
    Build and Lead the Team: Directly manage a team that includes accounting and Payroll and have the opportunity to immediately grow the existing team

  • Audit & Regulatory Readiness: Serve as the primary liaison for annual and interim audits; manage PBCs, walkthroughs, and responses; ensure compliance with external reporting requirements.

  • Internal Controls & Policy: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust internal control framework and global accounting policies in coordination with Legal, Compliance, and Tax.

  • Technical Accounting Leadership: Collaborate with VP of Finance on new accounting positions and regulatory developments.

  • Cash & Liquidity Management: Review daily cash positions, ensure adequate liquidity for operations, and oversee treasury-related reporting.

  • System & Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase scalability and efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Crypto Operations on key initiatives and business processes that intersect with accounting.

  • Strategic Advisory: Provide accounting guidance and risk analysis on business initiatives, entity structuring, new product launches, and vendor relationships.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, in either or both public accounting and in-house operational accounting roles in the financial services or fintech space

  • Experience or knowledge of cryptocurrencies and digital assets is a must and Familiarity with treasury or crypto custody workflows

  • 3+ years of management experience, with a strong track record of team building and leadership.

  • CPA required; Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Experience with NetSuite and FloQast strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience managing a multi-entity close and external audits.

  • Excellent understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial operations.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing demands, while maintaining accuracy and high quality output

  • Collaborative, innovative, flexible, and adept at building relationships across the organization

  • Bonus points for:

    • Experience working at a high growth startup as well as working at a public company/large private company

    • SOX and / or SOC experience

Salary:

The starting pay range for this role is between USD$250,000 - USD$275,000 for all U.S. remote locations. The actual base pay will vary, and is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skill sets, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change.
