Marcom LA is the group creating and overseeing the world-class marketing and advertising driving Apple's rapidly-growing Services sector including Apple Music, App Store, Apple Pay, Apple TV App, Arcade, News, Books, Podcasts, Maps, iCloud and more. We are looking for an Associate Creative Director (ACD) to join our Marcom LA Design Team. In this role you will collaborate with a group of design creatives, brand managers, project managers, producers, as well as cross-functional and external partners. We work to create and craft identities for Apple’s services. With a focus on developing distinctive campaigns that are unmistakably Apple, the ACD will steward the look of a handful of services.

Description


The ACD crafts innovative, inspiring identities and campaigns for Apple’s services, products and events — as well as providing guidance, and direction for other creatives. They provide cross functional communication and direction that inspires others and wins over stakeholders. They are adept at evaluating complex briefs and are comfortable presenting work at all levels. They have experience directing both large and small teams of creatives and are accomplished in developing a healthy and vibrant creative team atmosphere. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead and oversee the conceptual development and execution of campaigns that meet the strategic requirements outlined in the brief. - Contribute to all projects from planning and initial ideation, through final delivery of production. - Establish and optimize foundational identity systems for Apple Services that drive multiple campaigns through the year. - Provide direction, oversight, and leadership to project teams, responding swiftly to new information, and adjusting strategically when needed. - Drive collaboration cross functionally — establishing relationships, rapport and credibility within the creative community, senior leadership and executive team. - Conduct regular reviews of creative work with the project team and key partners. - Collaborate closely with vendors, illustrators, photographers, motion and graphic designers by providing art direction, guidance, and feedback.

Minimum Qualifications


At least 9 years of experience building brand identities and campaigns. A portfolio or work samples exhibiting a thorough grasp of design principles, animation principles, art direction, typography and visual communication. Industry experience leading and mentoring teams of Designers and Art Directors through the creative development process (from early exploration to the delivery of a final identity or campaign). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator). Bachelors degree

Preferred Qualifications


Outstanding conceptual design and problem-solving skills. Strong art direction sensibility and capability to define scalable design principles to achieve results. Effective collaborator who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, capable of negotiating creative input from multiple functional groups, garnering trust and influence. Dynamic communication style, capable of real-time creative problem-solving in conversation and conveying a strong point of view for design solutions. Ability to cut through ambiguity and find the path forward, despite uncertainty or challenges. In-depth knowledge of all steps required in the creative process, including staffing projects, providing communication and direction, and giving timely and useful feedback to improve creative solutions. Experience with After Effects, Cinema 4D (or equivalent 3D tool)
