Position Summary:

 As a vital member of the senior leadership team, the Human Resources Director is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for all HR functions. This role leads the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive human resources programs, policies, and procedures that align with organizational goals and support a positive, high-performing workplace culture. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the CEO and senior management with employment of total clinic staff. 
  • Leads the strategic development of human resource practices and ensures effective coordination and collaboration between the Human Resources Department and other departments across the organization. 
  • Collaborate with management on personnel matters. 
  • Keep records of benefit/insurance coverage, pension plan and personnel transactions. 
  • Review and update employee policies and handbook. 
  • Establish and oversee HR practices in recruiting, hiring, orientation, termination, and discipline procedures. 
  • Maintain and control all personnel files. 
  • Oversee insurance credentialing including CAQH. 
  • Oversee staff credentialing and re-credentialing. 
  • Manage and organize documents for board meetings (board packets). 
  • Work with management in creating and maintaining job descriptions reflecting the mission, vision, and values of the clinic. 
  • Direct a process of organizational planning that evaluates structure, job design, and workforce forecasting throughout the company. Makes recommendations to senior management. 
  • Establish wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal program, employee benefit program and services. Monitor for effectiveness and cost containments. 
  • Represent the organization internally and externally at personnel related grievance procedures, hearings, and investigations.  
  • Manage workers' compensation reports, claims, and benefits.  
  • Manage employee health care plan and 401(k) retirement plan. 
  • Collects, assimilates, and interprets personnel data for annual agency certification by regulatory bodies, any accreditation reports, and funders. 
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and organizational guidelines that affect human resources (e.g., OSHA, EEOC, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Wage & Hour).  
  • Work with the Finance Department in maintaining and operating joint payroll & HR software.  
  • Work with the Board Personnel Committee to recommend changes. 
  • Prepare and manage HR portion of annual budget. 
  • Performs related work as required and other duties as assigned by CEO.

  • Ability to prioritize work assignments, work independently and perform duties efficiently with minimal supervision.  
  • Participate in professional development activities.  
  • Requires occasional travel. 

Physical Demands:

  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time.   
  • Working in an office environment.   
  • Some bending, stooping, and stretching are required.  
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions.   
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.  
  • Ability to hear normal voice ranges.
