Summary
Under the management of the Site Supervisor with direction of the Operations Manager, The Lead MA/CMA supports AMC’s clinical Medical with on-site training/support of the electronic health record system (EMR), assists with orientation and verification of competencies of MA’s and clinical support staff on clinical and operational workflows, serves as the trainer and lead in the implementation of new workflows, and other clinical operational programs as assigned. The Lead MA/CMA serves as the primary point person along with the Site Supervisor (or their designee), for supporting projects/programs such as but not limited to, implementation of new or upgrades of EMR module(s)/workflows, Vaccine for Children’s (VFC) program, 317- funded Vaccines for Adult Program, and other projects/programs as needed by AMC. The Lead MA/CMA provides ongoing training and support for all existing and new clinical support staff and assists users in applying workflows at the practice level.
Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following:
- Trains new and existing MA’s and serves as a training resource to other clinical AMC staff.
- Assists in training of clinical staff on new and existing workflows including those workflows related to capturing quality improvement data and QI projects.
- Creates and maintains training and orientation materials for MAs and others as mutually agreed upon with Site Supervisor with support of Operations Manager.
- Assists with clinical and compliance audits in the back office.

Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, required.
- California MA certification, required.
- Minimum two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, required.
- Proficient in EPIC (EMR) system with ability to competently train other MAs, required.
Language Skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak (fluently) in English and Spanish.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Current CPR certification required.
- Medical Assistant certification.
