Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager, Chemistry to lead and grow our process team. This role is responsible for overseeing chemical synthesis, product filling, and production operations in a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in industrial chemistry and capable of working in a cleanroom and on a strict production schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and accountability
  • Manage, train, and mentor a team of chemistry associates
  • Schedule and execute chemical syntheses under SOPs on a multi-kilogram scale
  • Oversee production to ensure materials meet product specifications
  • Independently plan and manage production timelines, raw material inventory, equipment use, and yields
  • Operate and oversee use of automatic filling and capping machines
  • Work in a Class 10,000 cleanroom environment
  • Lift, carry, and move production equipment and materials as needed



Requirements

Candidate Qualifications 

  • BS or MS in Chemistry or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a production environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong background in industrial chemistry processes
  • Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently on a production schedule
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of industrial chemistry and chemical production processes
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs in a production environment
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols (especially ISO Class 10,000)
  • Understanding of chemical safety and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting

Skills:

 

  • Leadership and team management, including training and mentoring staff
  • Project and production planning (scheduling, tracking progress, resource allocation 
  • Effective verbal and written communication


Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multi-step chemical synthesis on a multi-kilogram scale
  • Ability to work independently and lead teams to meet production timelines
  • Ability to adapt to a cleanroom environment and follow strict protocols
  • Physical ability to lift/move equipment and supplies
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced production setting
