POSITION SUMMARY:
The Buyers primary responsibility is to source, purchase, and manage the procurement of goods as directed by the organization to support both operational and manufacturing needs. The role involves strategic sourcing, negotiation, and the careful management of relationships with suppliers and vendors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Order materials to support production as directed by the production team or as specified by customer requirements
- Purchase machine components and maintenance supplies
- Ensure that orders are accurate, complete, and meet the organization's needs while adhering to budgetary constraints
- Collaborate with production control team to optimize stock levels and ensure timely replenishment
- Maintain records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor communications
- Work to reduce costs through negotiation, bulk purchasing, and other cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards
- Utilize six-sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes.
- Responsible to maintain & support processes, procedures & K.P.I.’s owned by your position.
- Review of all procedures related to your job per “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
- Completion within time stated of all training required by Job Description in “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Follow all Company policies and procedures

Requirements
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles
- Ability to work independently and under pressure doing several tasks simultaneously while setting priorities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma and 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing or supply management
- Computer literacy (Primarily Microsoft Excel, Word and other pertinent software)
- Must be a team player and willing to complete professional development goals
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
- For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sit or stand as needed.
- Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
- Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
- Proper lifting techniques required.
- Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
- Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
